Tsogyaling Meditation Center of EvanstonLocated near Lake Michigan in beautiful downtown Evanston, Tsogyaling (which is pronounced "so jal ling" and means "place of Tsogyal") offers a peaceful place to come and learn the ancient practice of meditation. Named for Yeshe Tsogyal, one of the foremost female teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, the Center is committed to sharing and preserving the precious teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and culture. Yeshe Tsogyal’s name means "Victorious Lake of Wisdom." Engaged BuddhismAs a member of the Heartwood Center for Body Mind Spirit — a leader in holistic healthcare — Tsogyaling has a special focus on the healing aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. We offer these sacred teachings with the aspiration of peace and healing both individually and on a global level. In addition to teaching meditation, the Center is committed to taking meditation off the cushion and into the world as social activism in projects like our Tibet Girls School. The Center is open to any person of any faith or cultural background who wishes to learn the practice of meditation. See more about our Evanston meditation classes.
