How You Can Make a Difference

Want to Get Involved?

Tibet Girls School currently needs $11,000 per year to cover room, food, clothing and education for ten girls in the city of Yushu. It takes only $1,100 per year (about $100 a month or $3 a day) to clothe, feed, educate and job train one girl. But there is a waiting list of more than 100 girls who desperately want to come to school. With your help, we can reach and teach more girls.

2. Community Education

One of the founding principles of Tibet Girls School and Tsogyaling Meditation Center is the importance of education. Asang fled to India seeking education. Now by opening the girls school, he is bringing learning opportunities to fellow Tibetans. Sharing his story and information about starting the school is an extension of this mission.

Asang and Nancy are available to talk or give a presentation about Asang's experience and this important project for any type of community group or organization, including schools, Girl Scout Troops, temples, synagogues, churches and many others. Please contact Asang at 847.491.1122 x25 to schedule a presentation or conversation with your group.

3. Fundraising Events: Ideas Welcome!

Do you or your group have ideas or events that we could participate in? We're always delighted to collaborate or receive ideas and contributions. So far, we've hosted an art opening of Tibetan photographs at Heartwood Center, held a Losar Festival and benefit at Wild Tree Cafe and took an exhibit to WBEZ's Global Activism Expo. Your input is greatly appreciated. Just contact Asang at 847.491.1122 x25.

4. Volunteer

Want to be more involved? We would love for you to join us in supporting Tibet Girls School.
